The summit of Dun Caan, this view is misleading, as between the lochan and the summit is a steep decent and winding climb.

Dun Caan 640m

Dun Caan on the Island of Raasay is a lovely little hill which offers no problems.

You can start from the main road going north or from the village, either way, your first sight of the summit will be impressive, it certainly looks, particularly if you are walking from the village, like a very steep climb, however that is not the case. There is a winding path which takes you to the summit. But be aware, the east side from the summit is a steep drop, so keep your dog under control!

There is a short section of easy scramble just before the final climb to the summit (actually the scramble is on the way back)! But nothing to worry about.
