Quinag from the Stalkers path.

Quinag (Sail Gharbh) 808m & (Sail Gorm) 776m

Please read the story about Quinag (Spidean Coinich) first, as Quinag has three summits and usually Spidean Coinich is done first.

Having failed at my first attempt (see above), a few weeks later I was back. This time taking the same path from the A 837, but continuing over the first ridge on the well defined stalkers path to Lochan Bealach Cornaidh. One guide book I have suggests you turn right half way along the loch and assend Sail Gharbh, well you can if you like!

I rather preferred to continue along the path, look to your left and you will see the path coming down from Spidean Coinich, the path leads you directly to Bealach a' Chormaidh, when you get there you are suddenly confronted with wonderful views. Here you can join the path up to Sail Gorm, its not too easy, quite steep and some feeling of exposure, but if you really look, although it feels exposed, the actual immediate drops are quite small - just keep going!

Once at the summit you can decend down a simple slope then an easy assent to Sail Gharbh, as you get towards the top, keep to the left of the rocks to find the path. Return the same way, once in the Bealach between Sail Gharbh and Sail Gorm follow the path down to the Stalkers path.

Time about 4 hours.
